Job DescriptionWidenet Consulting is currently recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer capable of designing and building a next generation platform. Our focus is on building a global, secure, performant, service-oriented platform with first-class developer ergonomics. The platform will enable our applications to efficiently process petabytes of unique information and create superb user experiences.
We face a variety of challenges at the scale we operate:
Mixed workloads: Most of our applications require high performance transactional data stores with supplemental analytical systems updated in near real-time. These systems must work together and handle a variety of user-interactive use cases while seamlessly processing 24x7 data integration traffic (API, ETL).Real-time data analytics: We have a number of use cases across our applications where users need to issue arbitrary queries across very large data sets, and get answers in real-time.Traffic spikes: Some of our applications communicate direct to consumers, and need to handle large bursts of traffic -- autoscaling is a requirement for us, not an optimization.Global orchestration: We are a global company operating in 100+ countries, and have a variety of data assets with regional restrictions. Our services and applications need to run everywhere.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline or related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
QualificationsModern packaging and provisioning tools: Docker, Vagrant & SaltStack.
Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Redshift, Impala & DynamoDB.
C#, including Mono and ASP.NET "vNext" / Roslyn powered REST microservices.
