Your Assignment: Software Systems ArchitectAs a Software Systems Architect at TheIncLab, you will play a key role in designing software systems for Department of Defense and other U.S. Government customers. You will shape the technical direction of projects by formulating robust software architectures and guide development teams in implementing effective solutions. You will work with customers to understand project constraints and with product teams to identify key features, to then create blueprints for software systems that can be put into production. The software you architect will be used for a wide variety of applications, including mission planning, tactical networking, high-performance computing, command & control systems, data analytics, and unmanned autonomous systems.
What will you do?Design and develop comprehensive software architectures that fit both customer needs and project constraintsAnalyze project requirements and translate them into technical solutions and system designsMeet with customers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and desiresCollaborate with product teams to map out features, feasibility, and level of effortEvaluate technology tools that can be used in solutions and perform engineering analysis to identify appropriate technology stacksCreate proof of concepts illustrating how tools can be implemented to achieve project goalsSet the technical direction with development teams to create software products that have a cohesive visionDocument system architecture to effectively communicate system components and data flowConduct regular code and design reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to architectural guidelinesIdentify and mitigate potential risks related to software architecturesStay up to date with industry trends and advancements to inform future architectural strategiesTravel up to 20% for system demonstrations and customer engagementsClearance Requirements: Applicants must be U.S. CitizensApplicants must possess an active Top-Secret Security Clearance (preferred) or be able to obtain a Top-Secret Security ClearanceRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fieldMinimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 2 years in an architectural roleProficiency in designing and implementing software solutions in the domains of web development, desktop app development, mobile apps, and cloud deploymentsKnowledge in networking and communication protocolsExperience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of database systems and their integration within complex software systemsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in simple termsStrong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide development teamsPreferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience with systems engineering and integration, especially on Department of Defense projectsDemonstrated experience designing and deploying complex software systems on Department of Defense networksWhat We OfferAt TheIncLab we recognize that innovation thrives when employees are provided with the support and resources they need to be successful in balancing career and life.
