Job Description About this job: The Senior System Infrastructure Engineer is a major player for the stability and innovation for the IT services framework that host, deliver, and maintain the core business applications and workflows worldwide. Exposure is broad, covering many different technologies and business units, working with various teams, establishing relationships, all to provide a stable and efficient platform for the business to operate in. 
This position requires a strong ability to drill down into particular topics and have the ability to take a step back and look at the bigger picture in order to have a complete approach, to triage for a major incident and/or manage a solution to carry out for stabilizing the environment as part of a permanent problem resolution. You need to have the ability to manage incidents from a technical perspective, providing information and timelines to communicate to a non-technical audience.
In addition to extensive technical ability, strong communication and organizational skill are a key to success for the role. This is a special position in the fact your responsibilities will include both day to day operations and engagement in the support of roadmap projects and initiatives as they arise.
About the role: The right candidate for this role must be able to Anticipate , Identify, Analyze and Solve operational incidents, liaise with the proper stakeholders to manage expectations and implement the necessary changes for permanent resolution. 
The highest priority is to provide stable operations on a daily basis. To achive this, we must follow an approach that is consistent and redue complexities making it easier to manage. This allows us to maintain accurate controls and provides the ability to collect valuable information to consistently evolve and improve the quality of our IT services. 
The Production environment is Microsoft dominant with multiple flavors of Linux. The right candidate will have extensive production experience supporting Windows and Linux environments. As part of overall service management, creating and maintaining living configuration and control documents aligned with our support model is a key to success. 
You will be a senior member of a global operations team who is responsible for managing and providing 24x7 support for our services hosted in our Azure hybrid cloud environment. As part of providing support to a global environment, we have an on-call rotation that is spread across the US and CET time zones, that compliment each other in regards to off-hours support. To be a successful team, you will be responsible for helping other team members and guiding them accordingly.
Qualifications About you: You need to be someone who is creative , accountable, ambitious and takes an outside of the box thinking approach to be able to align with roadmaps of other IT teams initiatives and alignment with a future vision of operations. You must be able to look at and visualize an improvement, propose your concept and follow through to take your idea from a concept to a solution. You must be able to proritize your work and reach out when you determine assistance is needed. You must have strong time management and organizational skills, the ability to think ahead and remain focused on the task at hand when you are being contacted from many different directions. You should be passionate about improving supporting processes and learning new methods and technologies to create operational efficiencies.
Competencies and Requirements: Strong Production hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS cloud offerings in a system engineering capacity. 7 – 10 years of production engineering and operational support in a global Windows and Linux environment, focusing on the integration for network, storage and Infrastructure components. 4+ years operating in a production Azure cloud environment is a must. Strong ability to create scripts and frameworks utilizing toolsets/lanuages such as PowerShell , YAML , KQL , bash , JSON , Ansible automating manual processes to create efficiencies in the standard operating environment. Prior experience deploying infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as a code technology ( Terraform ), integrating scripts into the overall deployment and automation. Nice to have qualifications : Exceptional time management and prioritization based on impacts and other external factors. Identify stakeholders, schedule and lead working sessions, identifying the scope and objectives for the topic at, while keeping people accountable. Prior recent experience in a DevSecOps environment utilizing a form or Scrum or Agile frameworks is preferred . Support elements of solution design utilizing aspects of native Azure offerings, reducing the need for 3rd party application where possible. Prior experience consulting with the security and compliance providing them with evidence to demonstrate compliance with operational controls. Attention to detail with the ability to filter out the unnecessary and to focus on the information that is important for the scope being addressd. Identify areas that are inefficient, propose and implement standards and automations to reduce complexity, improving the overall framework. Liase with architecture on new ideas and implementations, developing the controls to bring into Production. Mentor other engineers on core support and triage approach improving employee development and improving quality of delivered IT services. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand the components and thresholds to monitor and alert in a mixed Azure IaaS and PaaS environment (Linux and Windows). Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Ability to review manual steps and automate with scripting. Implementation of solutions in Azure utilizing Microsoft native toolsets. Container support and orchestration within a public cloud ( Docker, Kubernetes, AKS ) Experience and knowledge supporting and maintaining DevSecOps pipelines in alignment with development and architecture for native cloud applications. Understand and control the operational costs in a public cloud environment. Office 365 support and architecture knowledge in a hybrid environment. Additional Information This is a hybrid office based position which is located out of our Stamford, CT location. Remote working days are Monday and Fridays.
