The MBRDNA Autonomous Driving Team is looking for a motivated and passionate engineer responsible for the health of the data collection fleet. Data is essential for the development of our first-class ADAS Software. We use a big and scalable data collection fleet to collect data for customers all over the world. This position focuses on the North American market and involves leading the deployment of cutting-edge front runner vehicles, including sensors and software, in collaboration with our global team and partners. You will be responsible for managing the rollout of hardware/software packages across multiple vehicles, ensuring they are tested and ready for deployment and data collection. Key duties include developing and troubleshooting ADAS software, as well as installing and updating various versions of ECUs, sensors, and software on these vehicles. Once these vehicles are in the field and actively collecting data, you will serve as the primary point of contact for diagnosing and resolving issues in North America. Using remote tools and software, you will perform first-level analysis to identify potential failures or problems. For more complex issues requiring hands-on intervention, you may be required to travel to an additional vehicle locations to conduct in-depth troubleshooting or install new parts. This role demands strong problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and ensure continuous data collection. Relocation assistance (domestic or international) is not provided for this position.
\n Job Responsibilities:Integrate sensors and software packages into Data Collection Platform Bring-up and validation of front runner vehicle together with our global team and partnersScaling from one frontrunner vehicle to multiple vehicles (15+) and send them into the field Debug issues especially on the communication between ADAS and rest of vehiclePerform measurements and analyze them in order to debug problems reportedRemote first level support and analysis together with data collection operator to solve problemsTravel on-site for second level support in case of major issues that can't be fixed remotelySmooth and fast exchange with engineers in other locations (China, Europe,..) to identify common problems and share solutions Minimum Qualifications:Degree in Computer Science, Electric or related fields7+ years of relevant work experienceExcellent skills in software development and programming (C++, Python, bash, linux…)Experience with debugging and analysis tools like CANoe, Wireshark or othersExperience in the development or validation of embedded systems in the automotive or consumer electronics industries Knowledge about sensors like Radar, Lidar, Camera and USSExperience with E/E integration and signal tracing as well as automotive communication protocols (CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, MOST, …)Knowledge about build systems and compute platformsAbility to work in a dynamic environment with changing boundary conditionsGood communication skills, ability to formulate thoughts and ideas precisely in verbal and written formTravel in North America is mandatory and frequency can be multiple times a monthAbility to travel on short notice anywhere in North AmericaAbility to spend extended periods of time in a vehicle or garage settingValid US driver's license Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge about vehicles in general or any specific field like sensors, ECUs, etc… Excellent communication skillsCurious, self-motivated, and excited about solving open-ended challenges at Mercedes-Benz
\nThe successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related education, skills, and experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $135,000 - $168,800.
