Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform technical tax review and approvals of all kinds, handling complex returns and government tax examinations.Act as a subject matter expert within specific tax disciplines or industries, providing insightful guidance and leadership.Ensure that all client assignments are completed within budget and with high standards of quality.Take full responsibility for larger tax returns, overseeing and delegating tasks to tax preparers as necessary.Engage proactively in client meetings and tax planning efforts, supporting the Audit & Assurance Department with major client engagements.Offer resources and support to tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff regarding specific tax issues and queries.Manage client services directly or delegate responsibilities thoughtfully from Partners.Communicate important tax developments within the firm, ensuring all relevant team members are informed.Handle and manage governmental tax examinations, representing clients before taxing authorities when needed.Maintain and enhance staff knowledge and skills, ensuring all team members are well-equipped for their tasks.Develop, coach, and train senior, semi-seniors, and staff accountants, fostering a growth-friendly environment.Minimum Position Qualifications: Seven to ten years of experience in public accounting, with demonstrated progression in tax complexity and scope.At least two years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities.One or more years of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.Must possess a current and valid CPA license.Membership in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in taxation preferred.Strong familiarity with the latest tax regulations and legislation that could impact client businesses.Experience with both SEC and closely held clients across multiple industries.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic tax planning for diverse client portfolios.Skills: Exceptional analytical and research skills.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster client relationships and team cohesion.Ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.High level of proficiency in tax software and technologies.Benefits: Competitive salary with large potential bonuses.Comprehensive healthcare benefits.Generous 401K plan with a 5% employer contribution.Opportunities for professional development, including 40 hours of continued education annually.Flexible work arrangements with a focus on work-life balance.
