The Sr. Technology Strategy Manager will report directly to the VP of Engineering, Enterprise Identity Technology and will be responsible for the organizational strategic priorities. This person will play a pivotal role in driving the team's goal, streamlining operations and ensuring effective communication and coordination. Outstanding thought leadership, strategic thinking, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills are a must have for this role.
Key Responsibilities include:
Strategic Execution: Develop and implement the department's strategic tech initiatives, goals, and objectives. Monitor progress, provide regular updates and support strategic decision-making.
Communications and Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination to ensure timely dissemination of information and updates to leadership team and other partners. This includes, but is not limited to presentations for Town Halls, email communication, and colleague forums.
Leadership Support: Support the VP and Leadership Team with decision-making, implementation, and team management. Act as a central point of contact for urgent business issues and initiatives managed by the VP. Lead ad hoc critical initiatives and special projects. Maintain a clear understanding of work happening across the team and prioritize VP attention to tech-critical initiatives.
Operational Efficiency: Oversee organizational strategy and day-to-day operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance tracking. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standard processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
Talent Management: Assist in talent acquisition efforts (partnership with Recruiting team) onboarding, and performance management. Oversee colleague talent management processes including mid-year, year-end, talent assessment, and implement colleague development programs to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.
Lead colleague engagement, networking, leadership roundtable events, and team building activities.
Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with VP and other stakeholders to identify and assess potential risks and vulnerabilities to implement risk mitigation strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Self-starter who can provide strategic thought leadership and prioritization with limited guidance.
Proven ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within American Express, with a strong understanding of Amex businesses and tech, processes, and operations.
Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
Extensive experience building winning teams, developing a team brand and creating commitment to a common purpose
Demonstrated ability to prioritize initiatives in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills with strong executive presence.
Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Active listening skills, summarization skills, and lateral thinking to uncover and react to emerging opportunities.
Prior technology knowledge and people leadership experience a plus.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
