OVERVIEW Hendall Inc. has a requirement for a Senior Training Content Editor on a multi-year training development contract to review online training, educational resources/tools, and other content for a large government healthcare agency. The successful candidate will have proven editing skills, be able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, manage his or her assigned tasks on multiple projects in various stages of development, and collaborate with an instructional design team and subject matter experts to produce clear, concise training products that are appropriate for the intended audience. A background that has immersed the candidate in all facets of the training development process such as developmentally editing, storyboarding, and applying interactive learning and knowledge checks is highly desirable. The candidate will provide at least two recent writing/editing samples that illustrate his or her ability to meet the described requirements as well as take an editing test following the interview.
DUTIES Provide in-depth developmental editing and copyediting for various electronic products associated with e-Learning initiatives and training developed under a Federal Government contract for practitioners in a clinical setting. Ensure overall editorial quality of training materials developed, including compliance with all federal regulations and guidelines and adherence to internal and client standards. Work within a writing and editing team to create, update, and maintain methodologies, processes, and procedures that ensure consistency across multiple deliverables and trainings, including compliance with style guides, conventions, and checklists for work products and deliverables. Review materials for content, clarity, consistency, grammar, format, organization, and instructional efficacy, and assist in establishing and monitoring procedures to confirm these standards are maintained. Work with teams comprised of instructional designers, content writers, editors, graphic designers, and e-Learning developers to create and deliver effective and engaging instructional content. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related field Minimum 5 years of editorial experience Advanced grammar skills and strong attention to detail Strong work ethic and ability to confidently make independent editorial decisions and be responsible for assigned tasks and work products Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision Ability to work both independently and as a member of highly integrated teams Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills Experience editing content that conforms to stated learning objectives Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products and SharePoint Must have the ability to proactively resolve issues in a diplomatic, flexible, and constructive manner PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in editorial project management and documentation quality control, particularly involving management of both processes and personnel, would be a decided advantage.
