Job Summary:
The International Miami Department of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Treaty Team at our Miami office.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote.
We seek a talented, enthusiastic, dynamic, and technical Underwriter to join our team.

The Underwriter will be responsible for our Latin America treaty book's growth, maintenance, and profitability.
The position will be responsible for developing, marketing, soliciting, selecting, sustaining, and underwriting Treaty P&C and related regional reinsurance lines, including proportional and non-proportional treaties.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Analyze, underwrite, service, and process new and existing treaty business as per Everest Re's Underwriting guidelines and delegated authority levels.
Manage, promote, and enhance long-term client/broker relationships.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all internal underwriting models in collaboration with Pricing Actuaries and Cat Modelers.
Assist with the development and strengthening of all members of the Miami Treaty Team in collaboration with other Senior and Junior Underwriters.
Analyze the current market trends and target potential clients, brokers, and products while maintaining, building, and improving relationships with existing clients and brokers.
Provide and encourage exceptional service to existing and potential clients.
Responsible for the upkeep of the accuracy of real-time aggregate accumulations.
Actively market Everest Re products and services to clients, soliciting new business submissions while gathering market intelligence.
Proactively contribute in corporate underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, analytics, claims handling, accounting, marketing, and operational departments to achieve collective team goals.
Implement departmental strategy, and effective working relationships across the enterprise.
Team up with regional colleagues and internal/external business associates, promoting fluency and knowledge exchange.
Support and strengthen enterprise culture and engage beyond the boundaries of one's functional job description.
Qualifications, Education & Experience: University Degree in insurance, business, or related field preferred.
Industry-related certification is ideal, such as CPCU, ARe or ACII.
Preferably 5+ years of underwriting experience in LatAm P&C Treaty business.
General Casualty and/or Motor experience is favored.
Hands-on LatAm portfolio experience is preferred.
Knowledge and experience of major treaty clients or brokers in the LatAm region.
Skillful in developing business plans for the LatAm region.
Fluent knowledge of Spanish is a must.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Willing to develop effective and authentic leadership, management, and training skills.
Useful research and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business issues, identify key risks, and develop solutions.
Reliable decision-making skills to understand options, trade-offs, and impacts.
Suitable oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Dominant expertise in Microsoft applications with advanced skills in Excel.
Eager to promote the development of evolving products, services, and underwriting knowledge.
Willing and capable of international business travel.
