Senior UG Transmission Line Engineer – Role & Responsibilities Role: As a Senior Underground (UG) Transmission Line Engineer, you will lead projects utilizing a team of engineers and designers to provide design services for our utility clients.
Responsibilities: Lead the design of underground transmission line projects with a team of engineers and designers.Design complex underground transmission line systems, including duct bank design and cable pulling calculations.Coordinate with cable suppliers to specify line components.Oversee the development of construction specifications and drawings as required per project.Perform QA/QC reviews of all work products.Perform site visits when necessary.Provide mentoring to junior team members.Assist with the preparation of proposals.Interface with client's engineering groups and project management teams to provide regular and timely updates.Participate in the preparation of training materials.Expectations: Adhere to Welty Core Values, OPTIC (Openness, Passion, Teamwork, Integrity, Customer Centricity).Establish trust and healthy rapport with client and contract engineer firms.Collaborate with the Management Team to foster a productive and encouraging environment.Ability to travel to meetings and project locations (10-20% as an average).Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering at an ABET accredited university.Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Underground Transmission Line Engineer.PE License and NCEES Registration strongly preferred.Familiarity with applicable design codes and standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
