OverviewThe Senior Underwriter administers the underwriting and servicing of new and renewal accounts for assigned Nonprofit agents and producers in compliance with Company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards.
The salary range for this role is $105-120K.
This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California.
Base pay offered may vary depending on education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics.
This range may be modified in the future.
ResponsibilitiesWrite and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing.
Maintain compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines.
Operate within written authority grant and make referrals to Nonprofit and Home Office Underwriting as required.Collaborate closely with the Nonprofit team.
Keep peers and Nonprofit Management informed of all issues and activity.In collaboration with Nonprofit Management, develop and implement a business plan for the assigned agents and geographic area and share accountability with team in meeting goals.Coach agents on underwriting appetite and protocols in conjunction with corporate training guidelines.Collaborate with the Nonprofit and Regional teams to develop, manage and maintain outside client relationships which will include traveling in the territory to meet with agents, producers and nonprofit associations or organizations.
Actively plan and participate in industry events as required such as agency or association conventions.Provide professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully resolve issues pertaining to policyholders and agents.Provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.Collaborate with support team on reports and update databases as required.Assist in gathering and communicating competitive information.Qualifications10 years of commercial lines property and casualty experienceBachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityDemonstrated experience with and expert technical knowledge of characteristic exposures of nonprofit organizationsTechnical command of underwriting of liability, professional, property, automobile, and umbrella exposures of nonprofit organizationsAbility to interpret and analyze information to make informed risk selections and pricing decisionsAbility to participate in and contribute to Nonprofit business planningRespect for confidential informationExcellent organizational and time management skillsEnjoyment of being part of a team of like-minded nonprofit insurance professionalsAbility to travel within the assigned territory and to the Home Office as requiredCPCU or CIC designationWhat We OfferAmTrust Financial Services offers a competitive compensation package and excellent career advancement opportunities.
