Virtru is currently sales-driven with a strong focus on the technical side. This role would need to be able to take a human-centered design approach and translate it for our security, technology, and business partners within the company. They would also need to be able to facilitate conversations to help groups reach consensus and clarity.
Our team includes UX Design and actively partners with Product and Engineering to identify customer problems to solve, influence priorities, set the North Star, plan work, execute the design, ensure quality, evaluate outcomes, and iterate.
We are looking for a highly determined, highly curious, entrepreneurial, and experienced UX Designer to help drive design strategy and mentor others within their scope of work. This person will work collaboratively with a team of product managers, engineers, and executives, as well as UX leadership, a team of passionate and creative UX designers to improve how employees interact with their jobs and Virtru. You'll drive work from partnering on strategy through to execution. You are responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence and ownership to thrive in collaborative work environments while raising the bar for user experience and accessibility.
We might be a good match if…You find core user goals and connect those seamlessly in your designs.You've weathered release cycles and know what details matter, how to empower colleagues to get to the right solution, how to acquire and translate user insights into meaningful action, and what's most likely to go awry at each stage.You can share examples of real work you've shipped, and what you learned along the way.You know when and how to get effective user validation through any appropriate means.You've conducted user research such as customer interviews or user testing to validate your designs.You've worked on products with various personas - Buyers, End Users, IT Administrators, Software Engineers, and those user's customers.Key Job ResponsibilitiesStrategize and design elegant and intuitive experiences by understanding the intersection of customer needs, business requirements, and technical constraints.Lead the planning and strategic phases of a project. Proactively pitch new CX ideas, backed by a strong, well-articulated rationale.Quickly and iteratively create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups with detailed visual design specifications for all viewport types throughout the design process.Independently deliver UX solutions for problems of large scope and complexity. Work through ambiguity, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.Be willing to build lightweight prototypes, and conduct scrappy and quick user testing independently if required.Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership.Contribute to user experience design guidelines and development best practices and standards.Directly mentor and lead.Successfully partner with cross-functional UX peers and partners to build seamless experiences that work backward from the customer.You have the skills to conduct your research including desktop research, exploratory research, and usability testing to prove your hypothesis.QualificationsBA/BS degree in HCI, Design, or equivalent practical experience.6+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience.Strong understanding of web technologies and the latest web standards.Experience designing and/or implementing complex web and mobile application interfaces.Experience using a user-centered approach to designing software, including prototyping, responsive design, and accessibility.Experience working on a design team and using style guides and design systems.Experience conducting and implementing results from user research and testing.Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive strategy, vision, and execution.Ability to communicate with collaborators, both internal and external.A strong portfolio showing a range from gathering user requirements to implementing high-fidelity designs.Established, opinionated patterns using design software such as FIGMA, FIGJAM.Experience designing in a B2B atmosphere and knowledge of SASS products.Bonus QualificationsExperience working with FED-related products.Knowledge of cybersecurity.Low coding experience.Virtruvian qualities that will set you up for success: Thinking outside of the box to respectfully challenge your teammates and managers in the pursuit of excellence.Strong sense of urgency with an action-oriented mindset.Able to collaborate and adapt to shifting priorities as business needs evolve.Comfortable with asynchronous communication including slack, email, zoom, etc.At Virtru, we believe people do their best work when their wellbeing is put first.
