DESCRIPTION The Sr. Vendor Manager (VM) is a leader within the NA Stores Negotiations team and guides the daily operation of the Annual Vendor Negotiations (AVN) and Always On Negotiations (AON) programs. AVN and AON introduce significant complexity spread across the US and Canada stores and specifically across all applicable product groups, vendors, and business terms that impact profitability. The Sr. VM will act as the leader of the AVN and AON Subject Matter Expert (SME) network across NA Stores by helping develop and maintain data and training resources, on-boarding new SMEs, and guiding all SME meetings and touch-points on a weekly basis.
Key job responsibilities
The Sr. Vendor Manager exhibits thought leadership among the NA Stores vendor management community (often through independent deep diving/research), shows high levels of organization and precision, and flexes a strong backbone in the face of competing priorities from stakeholders and business partners alike.
The Sr. Vendor Manager leads the following:
1. Daily management and operation of the Annual Vendor Negotiations (AVN) and Always On Negotiations (AON) processes across NA Stores. They plug into all goal-setting, training, and tooling work-streams, manage preparation and kickoff of each phase of AVN and AON, and act as a key contributor and auditor for all negotiation training materials.
2. Act as the central guide and consultant for NA Stores Vendor Managers (VMs) on AVN and AON negotiations. They are looked at as a "SME among SMEs" for their in-depth understanding of the term inputs to the P&L and how to prepare for and optimize negotiation outcomes.
3. Manage communication of AVN and AON progress to senior leadership. The Sr. VM will act as the central conduit to communicate NA Stores negotiation performance and the impact it has on our outputs through weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
About the team
