The successful candidate will be a key player in providing strategic legal advice on a wide range of legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk-management matters, with a focus on the financial services industry.
This role requires a leader with a strong background in banking-as-a-service, payments, and fintech, particularly in the areas of compliance, credit, consumer and commercial lending, and regulatory issues.
The Deputy General Counsel will be responsible for leading and managing legal support for significant programs, enhancing cross-functional legal collaboration, and ensuring that the organization's risk management policies align with regulations and strategic goals.
Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, be admitted to at least one U.S. state bar, and have a minimum of 15 years' legal experience, including a senior legal role at a federally chartered bank.
The role demands a professional with a proven track record in leadership, management, and a deep understanding of banking and financial regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, including but not limited to, TILA, EFTA, GLBA, BSA, AML, and data security regulations.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
