Job Description

Cetera Financial Group (CFG) is seeking a Senior Web Developer who will work directly with business partners to assist them in designing engaging and compelling web experiences to realize their objectives.
The Senior Web Developer role is equal parts consultant and technical specialist providing guidance and solutions to our business partners and executives and representing the Marketing Communications Department in strategic initiatives while performing duties as a technical expert in a fast-paced Marketing Department.
Your technical skills will be challenged to deliver a user-friendly, stable, fast, measurable, and scalable experience.


What you will do: Web & Interactive Development Design and display web content for enterprise web applications, including Intranet, marketing automation system, static websites, and email marketing campaigns. Create design prototypes, such as paper-based mock-ups, Photoshop comps, and low-fidelity digital wireframes. Implement tracking scripts and measuring events using Google Analytics and Tag Manager. Cross-browser compatibility verification and standards validation. Troubleshoot display issues and provide solutions. Build interactions to consume JSON data in a presentation layer using JavaScrript/HTML/CSS and other technologies. Collect and analyze business requirements to build in-page applications and web-based solutions using JavaScript. Create interactive experiences to support marketing campaigns, employee engagement, and communications. Identify trends in front-end development and introduce concepts for future integration into the organization.
Content Management Upload and maintain content using multiple CMS systems (Drupal/Alfresco/other). Periodic audit of content to identify dated, irrelevant, and out-of-brand materials.
Work with business partners to update, remove, or verify the accuracy of existing content.
What you need to have: 5-7 years of experience building and managing multiple web properties, including static, dynamic, and CMS-driven sites. 4-year degree preferred (Information Technology, Engineering, Marketing, or relevant) Previous experience supporting a Marketing Department or agency. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Work independently or as a key member of a team. Ability to create tableless CSS designs. A motivated, self-starter who can listen to objectives or read requirements and present viable solutions. Experience setting up analytic and conversion tracking in Google Analytics and Tag Manager. Candidate must have a genuine interest in the latest technologies and development practices. Turn out exceptional work using rapid prototyping and Agile processes. Manage multiple projects and adhere to tight deadlines without any sacrifice in quality or user experience.
What is nice to have: Proficiency in Web-based programming languages such as HTML (including HTML 5), CSS 2/3 (must be able to provide sample work), and JavaScript. Ability to code layouts using HTML/CSS (no table designs). Proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals (vanilla JS). Proficiency in the fundamentals of Bootstrap. Proficiency in DOM HTML objects and their properties. Working with CMS systems for management and deployment of content, including HTML fragment development, and CMS template design/deployment/integration. Understand the principles of creating responsive designs. Absorb JSON information into the presentation layer. Create design comps (Balsamiq/Photoshop). Knowledge of e-mail marketing technical requirements. Conceptual understanding of programming techniques specific to front-end development. Knowledge of Web activities and Internet techniques. Google Analytics certification. Knowledge of CSS/JavaScript frameworks and preprocessing (Sass/LESS). Knowledge and understanding of Node.js, Angular.js, Backbone, React, and PHP.
Travel Requirements: Occasional meetings at various offices.
