The Creation Coordinator role at Essex offers a master class in the mint tonality: responsible for the organoleptic evaluation, compounding, and formulation of mint oils, flavors, and food grade chemicals for a wide variety of applications. From evaluating plants in the field to testing in finished products this role offers a wide range of duties and opportunities. Working from our facility in Chehalis, WA, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate and create with dsm-firmenich master perfumers and flavorists around the world. The ideal person for this role will have experience in the flavor and fragrance industry, a strong ability to interpret analytical information and apply to formulation, and most importantly: a keen sense of smell and taste.
Work Schedule – M-F, 8-4:30 (these hours may vary depending on time of year and processes involved)
Your key responsibilities
Implement existing flow of samples throughout the testing program (internal and external) to ensure lead times are met.
Organize and facilitate sensory panels for quality and creation activities.
Preparing and compounding samples for internal and external stakeholders. Enter and manage the data in local and corporate databases.
Assist Quality supervisor (Non-conformances, Internal and external audits, SOP development, budget development, continuous improvement projects).
Engage with customers to demonstrate organoleptic qualities and towards product development. Collaborate with Formulate finished good blends to support production. Sample retain management.
Compliance with all Corporate and Local SH&E requirements. Confidentiality of work-related items is an absolute.
Position level and Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training. This position is also eligible for benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided. Hourly rate $30.00-$34.00

You bring
Ability to perform organoleptic evaluations and apply to formulation and product creation.
Ability to interpret analytical data and apply to formulation and product creation.
Computer proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Bachelor of Science degree or combination of education/experience
Knowledge of Food Safety principles, SOP's and GMP.
Ability to work independently, collaborate as needed, and communicate effectively with co-workers.
