Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Software Engineer/ Principal Software Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team (CLT). This position is in Bellevue, Ne and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Final grade level offered will be based on candidate level of experience.

What You'll Get To Do:

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

Interface with requirements and deriving design from requirements in a model-based systems engineering environment
Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design
Designs, develops and tests displays, controls and functionality
Designs, develops and tests simulation software for use in high fidelity simulation-based training systems; training systems may include a combination of console and weapon system simulations, virtual reality, and augmented reality
Design and develop artificial intelligence algorithms to tutor, assess and evaluate learner knowledge
Develops and maintains databases to monitor and analyze learner and system performance
Collaborates with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met
Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices
Performs code quality management and corrects defects
Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected

Candidate should have:

Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation including active work in DOORs and architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code
Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI or Circle CI
Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery
Experience with Java/C/C++ development
Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification
Software Engineer should have 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters
Principal Software Engineer should have 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD; or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
Experience with C/C++ development
Full lifecycle software development experience
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
Experience as technical lead on a software engineering team or project
Experience presenting to program management, other technical managers and customers

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Experience with UI design and development, or experience Interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementation
Additional years of experience above the minimum requirement
Experience with software architecture and design utilizing an MBSE tool, preferably Rhapsody
Experience with automated unit and regression testing,
Experience working within on an Agile team within a DevSecOps environment
Experience with deployment automation tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI or Circle
Experience with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)
Experience with Linux operating systems

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
