Family Meal at Blue Hill is seeking a dynamic and passionate Service Manager to oversee the front of house team. Founded in 2000, the restaurant has evolved over the last two decades, sourcing ingredients from its namesake Blue Hill Farm, the Barber family's dairy in Great Barrington, MA; from the Stone Barns Center for Agriculture in Pocantico Hills, NY; as well as from farms within 250 miles of New York City. Family Meal began in the summer of 2021 and welcomes guests to a menuless dinner experience of shared plates.
The Service Manager is responsible for communicating and maintaining standards for the restaurant. This includes cultivating an environment that inspires team members to work together and hold each other accountable. The Service Manager supports the FOH and BOH in order to create the best possible experience for all Family Meal guests and team members.

Creative: you are highly resourceful, anticipating problems before they arise and resolving them swiftly and strategically when they do.  Proficient: You are comfortable using Resy and familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and InDesign. Experience: minimum 2 years managing a fine dining restaurant OR 3-4 years as a Captain in a fine dining restaurant, including strong beverage knowledge.  Performing all other job-related duties. This position requires manual dexterity and the ability to follow oral/written instructions and procedures. To successfully perform duties, you must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Tasks May Include: Cultivating a supportive, energetic, and authentic environment for guests and team members. Upholding excellence and cleanliness of the dining room. Maintaining kind, constructive communication with back-of-house team members. Continuously providing support to all service staff, including offering feedback that helps team members grow. Managing guest relations through Resy and through targeted outreach. Closing the restaurant at least 4 nights per week. Holding employees accountable to all standards and practices. Consistently looking for opportunities to build our growing team. The Details: Compensation: 75-85k Access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, and Paid Time Off. Location & Hours: Full time position in-person at Family Meal at Blue Hill, with the ability to close the restaurant 4 nights per week. Shifts involve working evenings and weekends.
