Job Objective: Provide regular management, communication, and visitation with Service Extension unit leaders to equip, encourage, and empower.
Essential Functions:
Organize and conduct regular communication with Service Unit leaders, including, but not limited to; in person meetings, phone calls, messaging, special events, planning, and staff support. Equip Service Unit Leaders and facility volunteers in procedures, policies, and Safe From Harm training. Assist unit leaders with Divisional Headquarters connections to ensure they have the support needed from specific departments. Work closely with the Director of Service Extension to develop strategy, implement changes, and assist with departmental objectives. Encourage and support field leaders with fundraising programming, such as seasonal efforts, special events, donor cultivation, and local funders, and work with the Service Extension Project Manager for grant applications. Empower field leaders to develop community relations via Advisory Councils, special event committees, civic groups, public entities, and community events. Coordinate support to develop visibility and marketing strategies while working with the Director of Service Extension and the Divisional Media Director. Communicate and monitor budgets for each unit leader. Uphold The Salvation Army's mission statement and share the mission with new recruits. Attend and assist with the planning and leadership of Service Extension summer camp. Work with the Disaster Services Director and local unit leaders in educating and preparing local volunteers in the event of a disaster and being available to assist with services within the region. During a disaster, operate as a liaison to coordinate communication and support. Attend conferences and trainings as required. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Service Extension Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Leadership in volunteer and staff management, business goal planning/strategy, and team development. Experience in fundraising and community relations. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and employee manuals. Effectively present information to volunteers, clients, and employees in one-on-one and group situations. Experience with various programs and services within The Salvation Army is a plus.

Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to work with and supervise a wide variety of personalities Must be discerning and able to make sound decisions based on a variety of information and input Computer knowledge and skills are required, and software experience should include but not be limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and donor management software. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Supervisory Duties: Direct Supervisor of field staff leaders who comprise the Service Units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following The Salvation Army policies and applicable laws.

The position requires sitting; climbing and balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching, and crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 75 pounds; traveling by airplane; both outdoor and indoor navigation of settings, and standing and walking for extended periods.
Travel: Occasional travel throughout the division, average two weeks/month
Driving: Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Working Conditions: Daily work in a typical office environment may require some weekend and evening work. Event work may include hotels, indoor/outdoor venues, Service Units, and other public venues.
