The Salvation Army is seeking a Shelter Supervisor to be responsible for all supervisory duties pertaining to our shelters. This will include scheduling, time cards, payroll preparations, ensuring staff trainings are completed, and helping to coordinate shift adjustments as needed. The Shelter Supervisor will work closely with both employees and clients.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupervise Off-Site Shelter Programs staff operational administration under the Shelter Programs Director's guidance.Demonstrates working knowledge of emergency resources.Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and facilitating operational changes to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.Participate in hiring to ensure adequate coverage of permanent, temporary, and on-call shelter staff.Provide direct supervision and training for staff assigned.Attend and participate in all staff meetings.Conduct regular shelter program staff meetings as needed.Ability to conduct and oversee direct client services.Provide policy and procedure guidance to subordinate staff.Provide supportive care to residents experiencing personal crises.Education & ExperienceHS Diploma or GEDMinimum of 1-year experience in public contact/customer service1 year of relatable supervisory experienceDemonstrates skilled training in basic Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, and conflict resolution.Four months successful experience as a Salvation Army Shelter Support Staff (or related experience).Washington State Driver's License requiredA generous benefits package is included with full-time positions: paid holidays, vacation time, sick time, and medical, vision, and dental insurance.
