The Shift Lead is responsible to the Plant Manager/Operation Supervisor for the safe, continuous and efficient operation of the molded fiber machine to produce a product that meets the standards prescribed. The Shift Lead is responsible for the safety and supervision of the employees on their shift.
Responsibilities: Safety Maintain a clean, safe work area using the guidelines in the housekeeping policyConduct and log behavior based safety observations in the weekly safety log bookPersonally follow and enforce all plant rules including critical safety rules and policies, including all PPE requirementsUnderstand the operation of all equipment including fire protection-safetyAttend all assigned safety meetings and safety seminars and safety awareness trainingFollow all standard work practices, Job safety analysis and Work instructionsQuality Ensure a high quality product is being manufactured at all timesOperational Ensure the pulping operation runs as intended and troubleshoot/solve problems when they ariseMaintain the operation in the packing area, supervise packers and prevent or solve issues when they arriveNotify the Maintenance Lead or Plant Manager/Production Supervisor if the machine is not working properly, but do not hesitate to shut down if possible damage could occurConduct and record the results of all tests and other information as required on the mold machineRelieve packers when necessary for lunch periods and breaksAdvise the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor or the Maintenance Lead of any problem out of the ordinary Qualifications: Forklift certified on a Tri-Annual basisBe trained in all hot work permit requirementsBe First Aid and CPR certified on a Bi-annual basisBe trained on the use of plants AED Be trained as safety point of contact in lieu of management in all incident administration, when necessaryUnderstand safe handling and function of all chemicals used in the processUnderstand guidelines and administration requirements of various environmental policies and requirements Pactiv Evergreen Inc.
