Overview You are someone who exemplifies hospitality, upholds Second State Coffee values, and loves coffee. You handle conflict with grace & diplomacy and demonstrate professionalism in all rapport. You are responsible for providing daily direction & feedback, assisting with in-store training, and maintaining shop operation/cleanliness/service/organization standards. Our shift leads work with the Director of Operations and the Education Director to refine skill sets, curate consistency amongst our 4 locations, deliver excellent experiences, and ignite passions amongst team members. 
You will receive full barista training and will be trained as the head barista of your location. Once you have completed barista training and leadership training, you will be your stores head trainer.
This position is great for someone wanting to build a career in management and leadership - We will be placing the Shift Lead at either our Oyster Park or West Ashley location. The West Ashley location requires additional training in barista skills and food safety.
Key Functions & Responsibilities Demonstrates Second State Coffee values, culture and leadership behaviors and fosters a respectful, inclusive, educational, and fun environment for both team members and guests. Upholds Second State Coffee policies, procedures, and operational standards and maintains a high level of execution Exudes exceptional hospitality and service with regard to friendliness, cleanliness, speed of service, beverage quality, and customer retention. Always looks for ways to go above and beyond. Maintains a very clean and organized working space and consumer space Regularly participate in training advancement opportunities Presents clear objectives and holds team accountable to high-performance and quality expectations by regularly providing feedback and coaching Assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees during scheduled hours Provide feedback to training/hiring manager Protects integrity of cash handling, record-keeping, inventory management, and food safety. Responsible for weekly shop updates and communication with management team Ensures any shop product or operational changes mirror all location training and production protocol Release timely and complete schedules that meet both employee and business needs, covering any gaps in schedule as needed Understand individuals' strengths and weaknesses, placing team members in appropriate job functions Completes weekly inventories to ensure proper business function and growth Communicate with customers in person to resolve any service concerns Must be able to: Exercise sound judgment under pressure Provide exceptional consumer experiences Demonstrate enthusiasm for coffee, service, hospitality, and quality Have working knowledge of POS systems, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Confidently, patiently, and diplomatically provide constructive feedback to team members Communicate professionally and effectively - written and oral Be willing to receive feedback and search for areas of self-improvement Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills Can work on their own and is known to be a self-starter!
