Overview:
R&P is looking for an engineering professional who wants to join our team in support of designing, developing, and integrating the U.S. Navys Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) hypersonic weapon system.
We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients.
We need an Engineer ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
Working from the R&P Washington DC Offices and the Navys CPS Program Offices in the Washington Navy Yard, the CPS Program Engineer will be responsible for supporting the CPS Program office in development of CPS design solutions.
Utilizing engineering and interpersonal relationship skills, you will be developing and implementing strategic weapons, ship, and submarine integrated solutions.
A hybrid work schedule, with some authorized remote work, is acceptable.



Responsibilities:
Provide weapon system and ship system design and integration support to the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Program office.

Participate in programmatic and technical meetings to plan, prepare, integrate, and execute CPS weapon systems installations and tests.
Support, advise, and assist the CPS Program Government Employees performing systems engineering, detailed design, technology transition, interface design, and systems integration tasks in a high-quality, fast-paced environment.
Strive to develop and maintain a deep understanding of the CPS Program mission, goals, objectives, technical baselines, detailed design, and interface requirements.
Develop technical reports, briefs, and presentations for technical reviews and executive level meetings and events.
Support the planning, execution and documentation of design studies and evaluations.
Review, comment, and provide technical advice to the CPS program office on technical documentation submissions from prime contractors and other developers.
Provide engineering and technical support and advisement regarding problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation.
Support the identification, tracking, and resolution of systems engineering issues related to technical interfaces, technology insertion/design improvements, and other program initiatives.
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for cost, schedule, and technical issues.
Provide weekly reports on significant issues and actions.
Periodic travel to various locations in support of CPS requirements may be required.


Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and at least five (5) years of professional experience,
OR
A master's degree in a relevant engineering field and at least two (2) years of professional experience,
OR
At least eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in Navy weapon systems/platform integration and Systems Engineering.
Prefer 5-years experience providing engineering support to U.S. Navy Systems Commands, or Strategic Systems Program organizations.

Salary:
R&P offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes contributions towards health insurance, 401(k) matching, and other non-salary benefits.
Exact salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
