About the Opportunity:
•Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
•Pay: $22.50/Hour
•Location: Prior Lake, MN
•Schedule: 3rd Shift, Mon-Fri 9PM-5AM with some mandatory weekend O/T.
Daily functions:
Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
Loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and storing materials appropriately inside of facility.
Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
Deliver or route materials to departments using Forklifts.
Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
Compare shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental impact.
Desired qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of previous Shipping and Receiving experience.
Minimum of 1 year of previous Forklift experience- Sit-down Ability to stand for the full duration of the shift.
Willing to be trained on 1st Shift for at least a month then transitioning to 3rd Shift.
Ability to read, understand, and speak English.
Ability to use computers (Excel, Microsoft Office Suite).
Being comfortable within a cold environment (when loading trucks or when rearranging pallets in the freezer using forklifts) Career-driven and motivated.
Physical requirements:
Standing, walking 8+ hours per day.
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching.
Frequent repetitive wrist and hand motion.
Ability to lift +/- 50 pounds.
Ability to tolerate cold temperatures.
Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity
