Description
This position schedule is Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.
Under general supervision of the Shipping Supervisor, you will assist in implementing a safety culture and a highly efficient outbound shipping department of retail product distribution.
You are directly responsible for routing and scheduling shipping of customer product from our warehouse accurately and on schedule.
This includes properly documenting all shipments with correct quantities in the carrier shipping portals, the WMS and ERP systems as needed.
All shipping documentation for 3P carrier pick-ups must be reviewed and verified against physical orders for accuracy in packing slips and bills of lading for accuracy.
Shipping documents with incorrect ship confirmation numbers, item counts, quality issues or other errors found on the packing slips, bills of lading or invoices must be reported to management and reconciled as required every day.
As required, you may prepare, wrap and load carrier pick-ups, or support vendor services such as supplies deliveries, dock plate and wrap machine repairs or FL repairs, or approve services as requested to support the daily warehouse functions.
Requirements
•Coordinate all outbound shipping activities to ensure safety and quality control of all shipping team tasks and functions.
•Directly perform all daily activities in verifying, reviewing and reporting of outbound shipment accuracy, material condition, carrier documentation and truck loading status.
•Verify that all outbound shipments are complete and match descriptions on shipping documents such as bills of lading and report discrepancies to management.
•Monitor pallet staging requirements and help wrap and stage shipments as needed.
•Ensure accuracy of pallet pick-ups to correct shipping doors and carriers.
•Coordinate and prioritize shipping of outbound shipments with Sales according to customer order priorities and delivery time constraints to deliver customer orders on time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma and minimum of 2 years' experience in Warehouse Distribution.
•Experienced in various routing and shipping software, WMS, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
•Familiar with 3P carriers, routing methods, shipping documents, LTL/TL operations
•Experience with forklift truck loading, and other warehouse powered equipment.
•Ability to follow detail instructions, work well with contract drivers, employees and management.
•Strong interpersonal skills: ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
•Strong organizational and communication skills; must be detail oriented.
•Ability to use good judgment in order to safely carry out detailed instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Physical activity requiring reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, pulling, carrying, balancing, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing.
•Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
on a repetitive basis and push/pull 50-80 pounds.
•Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
•Associate is required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile) for duration of entire shift.
•Ability to safely operate equipment such as forklifts and load open trucks and trailers, use RF scanners, etc.
•Must be able to safely use box cutter to open boxes of products.
•Must be able to work safely in warehouse temperatures.
•Must be able to pass all drug screens and background checks.
