Job Description:
Job Title: US-Westminster-Shipping/Receiving Clerk I-1st shift
What You'll Do
Responsible for accurate physical receiving of materials/product in order to maintain integrity of inventory control.
Ensure delivery of materials/product to the proper department.
In this Function You Will
•Count, weigh, or measure items of incoming shipment in order to verify information against sales orders/customer requirements, bills of lading or other records
•Examine and unpack incoming or outgoing shipments, reject damaged items
•Examine incoming shipments to ensure they meet specifications
•Operate lift truck or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area
•Check on inbound inventory and administer the processing/shipment
•Trace and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
•Responsible for monitoring the returns process
•Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material by utilizing Oracle to maintain accurate inventory records
•Verify shipments and log them according to required procedures
•Investigate and resolve situations where items received are not properly documented in the daily receipt log
•Assist management in recycling material in the warehouse
•Cooperate with representatives from other departments in the organization to provide warehouse information as requested
•Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained neatly throughout the warehouse
•Ensure that all documents and material used in the warehouse are of satisfactory quality
•Safely utilize forklifts and power jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed
Required Qualifications
1 year Shipping/Receiving Experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution Center environment; Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills; Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Excellent prioritizing and organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks and stressful workload peaks.
US Citizen
Preferred Skills
1+ Shipping/Receiving Experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution Center environment; Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts; experience using Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel is helpful.
