Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for preparing outbound shipments and receiving incoming shipments.
Duties include organizing

inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to

maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, included but not limited to:

Review current shipping documents and prepare for current day shipments.

Greet deliveries as they arrive, process paperwork quickly and accurately, and confirm loads are correct.

Compare identifying information and count, weight, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to

verify information against bill-of-lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Ensure all received material is placed in proper temperature control storage locations.

Coordinate with Supply Chain Manager for received goods information.

Coordinate with Customer Service department for shipping goods information.

Affix shipping and temperature control labels on packed cartons.

Verify item counts from production; transfer information into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Verify paperwork released from Quality Control department for category number and lot number.

Utilize third party shipping software to enter shipping address and weights.

Affixes shipping labels to all outbound material.

Unpack and examine incoming shipments, record shortages, and correspond with procurement department to

rectify damages and shortages.

Route items to respective departments.

Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy levels to ensure we are meeting established controls.

Safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage areas.

Assist with annual and semi-annual inventory count.

Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Comply with Company policies, Quality Management System (QMS) and Standard Operaon Procedure

(SOPs ), etc.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures are followed; Maintain clean and safe work area.

Assist as needed in other areas of the Company where training requirements have been completed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

Requirements

High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Legally authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) year logistics, or shipping and receiving experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with ERP, WMS, or other inventory management systems.

Understanding of Inventory numbering and product identification processes.

Knowledge of safe warehouse practices and systems and State and Federal OSHA laws, regulations, and

practices.


Forklift certified or able to become forklift certified.

Experience in a cGMP environment.

BASIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Detail oriented, accurate, efficient, and accountable.

Proven ability to meet deadlines; work in a fast-paced environment.

Project a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a

cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; displays a professional attitude.

Ability to read and interpret work related documents, procedures, and manuals.

Ability to communicate effectively; good written and oral communication skills; ability to read, write, speak,

and understand the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions,

and decimals.

General knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass, and weight) and U.S.

equivalents.

VISUAL ACUITY:

Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a

computer terminal and reading.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to wear and work in personnel protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Physical activity performing strenuous daily activities in a warehouse setting.

Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech.

Constant repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers to operate keyboard and

mouse; Dexterity and coordination are necessary to handle small components.

Constantly stand for prolonged periods of time.

Frequently move about the facility to access office machinery, correspond with other departments, attend

meetings/training, etc.

SHIPPING & RECEIVING CLERK - JOB DESCRIPTION

Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 30 pounds; occasionally carry, push, pull or

otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Frequently squatting, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

Often reaching for items above and below desk level.

Occasionally sitting for a period of time for data entry.

ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS:

Well lit, heated/air-conditioned indoor manufacturing setting with adequate ventilation.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Frequent exposure to low temperatures in controlled refrigerators and/or freezers.

Occasionally exposed to high and low temperature and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Potential exposure to biohazards, fumes, and other airborne particles.
