JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The shipping and receiving clerk position physically verifies the receipt of all incoming orders.
Verifying parts received to packing list and purchase order.
Checks all items individually for freight damage issues, and files freight damage claims accordingly.
Distributes parts to specific service department jobs, fills and ships parts to customers, and stocks parts for warehouse inventory.
Clerk performs the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
Essential Functions
* Unpacks, receives parts against vendor packing list for verification of quantities shipped versus received, examines for any damaged, incorrect, or shipped short parts and processes appropriate documentation for claim or return, and corresponds and follows thru with vendor to rectify issue.
* Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
* Operates PB crimp tools and stretch wrap banders.
* Performs all computer functions necessary to computer receive parts, print packing list print shipping labels, and customer orders, for the correct distribution of inbound and outbound orders.
* Supports the delivery of parts to service/body technicians or designated area until job is performed.
* Supports the delivery of parts to the customer via the preferred shipping method.
* Support the stocking of warehouse inventory parts at time of receipt.
* Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by customer, carrier, or delivery of parts.
* Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the warehouse manager.
* Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
* Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and adheres to safety regulations.
* Able to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
by self, and heavier weights with assistance from additional staff or lifting equipment such as hand truck, lift truck, etc.
* Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
* Suggest to management possible ways of implementing changes that may be beneficial for better productivity and time management.
* Determine priorities and order of fulfillment based upon customers' urgency.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This is a warehouse environment.
While performing, this positions job duties, this employee may be exposed to loud noises, & inclement weather conditions.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds by self and/or heavier weights with assistance from additional staff members or lifting equipment such as hand truck or lift truck.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of a high school education and one year of experience in shipping and receiving.
Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Certified forklift truck operator.
