JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Lead at Crystal Mountain is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
This role includes managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring that all materials, supplies, and equipment are received, stored, and distributed properly throughout the resort.
The lead also supervises a small team, maintains records of shipments, resolves discrepancies, and works closely with vendors, suppliers, and other departments to support the resort's operations.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential, especially during peak ski season when timely deliveries are critical to maintaining guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Oversee Shipping and Receiving Operations: Manage the daily operations of receiving incoming shipments and preparing outbound shipments.
Ensure all shipments are accurately logged, tracked, and delivered to the appropriate departments within the resort.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and coordinate with department managers to ensure needed supplies are available.
Assist in managing stock rotations to minimize waste and obsolescence.
Coordinate Deliveries and Pickups: Schedule and coordinate delivery times with vendors, suppliers, and shipping companies to ensure smooth operations, minimizing any disruptions to resort activities and services.
Supervise Team Members: Lead, train, and manage a team of shipping and receiving staff.
Assign daily tasks, provide guidance on handling materials, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Inspect Shipments: Verify the quantity and quality of all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies with suppliers.
Manage Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and other related documents.
Ensure records are up-to-date and filed properly.
Communicate with Departments: Work closely with other resort departments, such as housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance, to ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment.
Operate Equipment: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment used in the shipping and receiving area.
Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs.
Maintain Safety Standards: Implement and enforce safety protocols in the shipping and receiving area, including proper handling of hazardous materials, heavy lifting procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues such as delivery delays, damaged or missing items, and supply shortages.
Collaborate with vendors to find solutions and ensure minimal impact on resort operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS- This position is required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays while in operation.
