Manages the Shop Service Department, productivity, resources and assets of the Shop Service Department to obtain maximum efficiency and profitability. Supervises a Revenue and Internal Foreman, each with their own Shop Service Writer. Department is comprised of approximately 25 techs, admins and utility personnel. This position will be overall responsible for profit and loss of the Shop Service Department.
Duties and responsibilities Adheres to and utilizes the established Service Department management operating system for assigned workMeasures productivityIncreases output, evaluates performance and tracking mileage and freightDevelops and maintains a training program for all Shop Service Department employeesEstablishes departmental goals relevant to each shop activity or department and monitors performance on a monthly basisMeets with Branch Manager and Parts Manager at least monthly for reviewing activities, financial reports, problems, progress and mutual needsMonitors the capabilities of the entire department regarding customer needs and service requirements for equipment being utilized in the territoryMaintains close contact and good relations with customers, may include onsite visitsAdministers safety program in accordance with existing company, state and federal guidelinesConducts a monthly safety meeting and completes required reportsPrepares and adheres to the company Salary Plan to provide a timely Performance Reviews and equitable increase programPerforms other duties or functions as requested by Management: supplemental duties will be providedPromote positive and professional relationships with all company personnel and between its divisionsImprove customer service quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results; implementing changesMinimum Qualifications Must have a minimum of 3 year(s) previous supervisory experience of service personnelHigh School Diploma or equivalentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the companyMust have current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standards.Must be able to pass and maintain alcohol and drug testing requirements as required by the Department of TransportationMust be able to lift 50 poundsMust be able to bend and twist several times a dayMust be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred.
