Job Summary: This position demonstrates the ability to perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines.
Works as a team member to provide basic mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals.

Entry-level position - Generally has less than two years of experience and/or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge/skills.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under immediate supervision.

Essential Functions: Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failuresAssists in the rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining of equipment and componentsLearns how to plan equipment and component repairsLearns how to complete parts orders and identify parts for returnMaintains all equipment and work areas - keeps in good, clean, and orderly conditionCompletes all documents associated with repairs in a timely mannerWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsWorks overtime as required by workload and customers' needsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training PathsRequires regular and punctual employee attendancePerforms other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceDemonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systemsOperation and control skills - Controlling operations of equipment or systemsEquipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a jobAbility to operate a conventional forkliftAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repairThe ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positionsThe ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsThe ability to read, write, and understand informationThe ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Additional Requirements: Must have/acquire basic mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard) Education and Experience: One or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel: No travel is expected for this position Physical Requirements: Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigueFrequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 poundsConstant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaAscends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipmentBe able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipmentRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work Work Environment: Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical partsMay be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidityThe noise level may be loud at timesExposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipmentRequires wearing common protective or safety equipmentRequired to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places Disclaimer:
