Shuttle/Bus Driver
Chatham University welcomes applications for the position of Shuttle/Bus Driver.
This position involves the safe operation of shuttle buses in the transportation of persons according to fixed route timetables, charter routes, or in response to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.

Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operates University shuttle buses and vehicles.
Follows specific regularly scheduled routes, charter routes or respond to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.Assists passengers in boarding and exiting vehicle (Including wheelchair lift).
Transmits and receives messages via two-way radio or cellular telephone.
Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies dispatch of potential problems.
Reports crashes, accidents or other safety situations to dispatch.
Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at the beginning of each shift for properly operating equipment.
Responsible for ensuring consistent cleanliness of vehicle interior and exterior Refuel vehicles to adequate fuel levels to support operations while maintaining schedule.
Monitors vehicle condition and reports malfunctioning items or damage on the appropriate form.
Accurately completes driver trip sheet for each shift.
Learns and remembers locations of various destination points serviced by the fleet.
Verifies that persons boarding the vehicle are authorized to ride.
Treats all riders in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
Provides other work-related duties as requested.
Qualifications: Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class A or B commercial driver's license with passenger transportation and air brake endorsement.
Above average motor vehicle record and driving skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Availability to work flexible work schedules.
Must be able to pass Department of Transportation physical exam and successfully complete an Alcohol/Drug screening process.
Physical Requirements: Medium work, 50 pounds lifting, occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds, Unrestricted sitting/walking/standing. Salary:
This position will be filled at the hourly rate of $21.53.
40 hour work week.
