Soliant Education is currently hiring a full-time Sign Language Interpreter for a 1:1 position with an elementary school student in the Madison, WI area for the 2024-2025 School Year. This is a great opportunity to provide communication support for a student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum and school activities. Position: Sign Language Interpreter Location: Madison, WI School Year: 2024-2025 Pay Rate: $30 - $38 per hour (based on experience) Caseload: 1:1 position with an elementary school student Needs EIPA over 3.5 or RID certification Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for an elementary school student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and instructions from teachers into American Sign Language (ASL). Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure full participation in class and school activities. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the academic and social-emotional needs of the student. Attend IEP meetings as necessary to discuss the student's progress, goals, and required accommodations. Provide support during extracurricular activities, field trips, and school events as needed. Maintain confidentiality of all student-related information and educational records. Requirements: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher , or RID certification is required. Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and other professionals. Ability to adapt and interpret for an elementary school environment. Must be dependable, flexible, and committed to supporting the students success. Ability to maintain student confidentiality and professional standards.
