The primary responsibility of the Site Director is to manage a site that is both a construction project and an operational production/test site. This onsite position is critical for leading the Texas Site Team through design, construction, and into operations for a state-of-the-art solid rocket motor plant.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the definition, design, and construction of the Texas Site, working with Architectural and Engineering (A&E) firms, vendors, and contractors to ensure the timely design, build, installation, and commissioning of an energetics facility. Develop and manage a staffing plan, then manage and/or hire X-Bow's Texas Site team, including the hiring of staff following the build, equipment installation, and commissioning. Develop the site budget and track performance against the approved budget in collaboration with finance. Manage the site development schedule to be used as a tracking and status tool for suppliers and executive management. Approve purchase orders and expenditures relative to site budgets. Resolve interferences between site users and any construction activities to support overall company priorities. Delegate tasks to Texas site managers and superintendents. Oversee site security in conjunction with the Facility Security Officer (FSO). Manage site safety in collaboration with the Safety Director. Perform operational logistics across the site between site development and operations and manage team access. Implement all safety policies and regulations to ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees. Work closely with executive management to communicate status and issues. Negotiate contracts and approve expenses against the Texas site budget. Decide on workforce hiring and suppliers. Monitor site development and transition to operations planning, coordination, and control as the site comes online. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in site management, construction, and operational production environments. Strong leadership and project management skills. Experience working with A&E firms, vendors, and contractors. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Must be based in the South Texas area (Luling, Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, New Braunfels).
