Kett's core service offerings include contract recruiting and staffing, proving ground management, test program development, field and fleet test development, data acquisition and reporting, mapping programs and test trip staffing, and logistics and support.
We are currently looking for a Site Manager to join our team and work with our customer, supporting an Automotive Research and Development facility in Torrance, CA.
Summary Manage test programs and work within the site, supervise personnel in all areas and assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of all personnel, collaborate with staff and customers regarding new and existing programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Ensure site operations compliance with Company policies, procedures and work instructions; correcting problems in a timely manner.
· Assist in upfitting new site. Manage contractors for electric vehicle charger installation and site modification.
· Formulate and enforce site performance goals and objectives; review performance data to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
· Organize and manage business and site personnel meetings.
· Practice and enforce safety management in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.
· Monitor and assist site personnel with work progress.
· All site testing and management activities; take ownership and accept responsibility for the decisions and actions of the team.
· Evaluate, maintain and improve roles and responsibilities for personnel operating on test programs.
· Devise, implement, and maintain a proactive site management strategy for vehicle testing in partnership with Program Management.
· Resolve conflicts promptly, both internally and externally, maintaining composure and professionalism at all times; document all conflicts and resolutions for Human Resources.
· Manage site assets and expenses, including but not limited to cash handling, credit card usage and inventory.
· Report back to program manager regarding safety, quality, shift uptime and labor hours
· Co-ordinate financial and budget activities for operational efficiency.
· Maintain a positive relationship with customers keeping corporate management informed.
· Assure facility and employee appearance meet company standards.
· Set standards for personnel by appropriately modeling company policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities: · Evaluate and implement training and development needs for personnel, including completing annual performance reviews for all office and garage personnel.
· Personnel training, mentoring and career development.
· Operate site within the constraints of the operating budget and within the Company policies and procedures
· Co-ordinate all testing tasks within site.
Qualifications: Education and/or experience: High School diploma or GED, college degree preferred or related work experience. At least 1 year management experience (prefer candidates with previous automotive or testing background).
Language skills: Fluent in English language. Read and understand safety rules and test procedures in English; able to communicate test and safety information and instructions in written and spoken English. Able to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers and customers.
Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate by addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with an understanding of proportionality and fractions.
Computer skills: Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Internet Explorer.
Reasoning ability: Utilize effective leadership tools to plan, organize, staff, control, and direct all operations of the site office; establish goals and objectives for the site and its employees and devise a strategy to make it happen. Must be able to multi-task and delegate job responsibilities.
Certificates, Licenses and registrations: Must have a Valid Driver's License and must pass a seven (7) year reference check.
Physical demands: Requires walking and standing, and sitting for long periods to time to do clerical work. Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally, and lift and carry 10 pounds frequently, sometimes across outside terrain.
Work environment: Will work in office, maintenance shop, outside the buildings, or in a vehicle.
