Essential Job Functions
The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation:
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Site Merchandising and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans to improve customer experience and conversion.
Collaborates with Site Merchandising Manager, Category Management & SEO team as a strategic partner to identify any gaps or needs with site taxonomy.
Expert at understanding how the backend works with building out taxonomy, attribution, optimizing for SEO and building a customer-centric experience.
Manages site taxonomy build & product listing rules at the category level, helping to execute the Category Manager's strategy properly through Site Merchandising best practices; providing insight to the team based off of real-world data, tests, and competitor actions.
Build site navigation within specific product categories to increase findability and improve customer experience while shopping the site.
Maintain Onsite Search metrics and reporting including Weekly and Monthly dashboards that are presented to business stakeholders.
Implement business rules to improve results sets and evaluate performance through web analytics.
Execute redirects, boost/bury products, and other tasks within the Onsite Search platform.
Utilize competitive analysis and customer feedback in search tuning.
Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests. Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
Identify, recommend, and implement strategies that improve visitor engagement and conversion.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
As needed or directed, travel (by plane/car) domestically and internationally to meet with vendors and attend conferences and meetings.
Follow direction from Director of Site Experience and Site Merchandising Manager and work independently based on overall direction given by this supervisor. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Merchandising & Marketing to ensure enterprise goals are met online; ensure the highest skill set of competencies necessary to meet and exceed company objectives; actively pursue the development of bench strength.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Normally requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Requires 2-5 years progressively responsible, professional-level eCommerce experience, driving customer-facing campaigns.
Specific functional experience should include business management, online site merchandising, product management, channel management. Also, requires business acumen and analytical skills necessary for proper financial modeling and management of assigned category(s), including the ability to control financial metrics required to achieve profit objectives. Must have advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite and the aptitude to learn and utilize new internal applications. Additionally, this position requires a highly advanced level of knowledge, competency, and continued development in the following areas with the ability to effectively:
Persuade, and motivate others with the ability to flex style as the situation requires, and collaborate or empower as needed.
Partner and negotiate with vendors, as well as with Petco associates.
Understand and communicate with a diverse set of leaders and associates at various levels and within various functional areas that impact their category(s).
Continue to expand ability to manage multiple responsibilities with the skill to multi-task and shift focus from one task to another seamlessly.
Develop long-range plans for assigned category(s) based on sound knowledge of category and corporate expectations. Collaborate with eCommerce Director on larger scope of business.
Recognize and seize upon opportunities to maximize sales and profitability.
Champion change management efforts through the effective utilization of the talent of team members.
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a US Passport for international travel.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
