All candidates will be considered after program eligibility is confirmed.* The classroom instruction and clinical experience content of the training portion of a training and competency evaluation program must include, but is not limited to, the following:
communication skillsobservation, reporting, and documentation of a client's status and the care or service furnishedreading and recording temperature, pulse, and respirationbasic infection control procedures and instruction on universal precautionsbasic elements of body functioning and changes in body function that must be reported to an aide's supervisormaintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environmentrecognizing emergencies and knowledge of emergency proceduresthe physical, emotional, and developmental needs of, and ways to work with, the populations served by the agency, including the need for respect for the client and his or her privacy and propertyappropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene and groomingsafe transfer techniques and ambulation; normal range of motion and positioningadequate nutrition and fluid intakethe rights of the elderly COMPETENCY EVALUATION The competency evaluation program or the competency evaluation portion of a training and competency evaluation program has the following requirements:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity which may include lifting,
bending and standing.Ability to transfer clients via 2-man lift or mechanical lift for clients who weigh
greater than 50 lbs.Ability to work with home equipment; i.e. wheelchair, standers, stroller, walker,
cribs, swings or other equipment ordered by clinician. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain reliable transportation to and from the client's place of
treatment. THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of NursingAssistant Director of NursingScheduler if applicable for scheduling needs QUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GEDCurrent CPR certification for healthcare professionals.
