This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability. POSITION SUMMARY: World Relief seeks a Social Adjustment Services Intern. The Social Adjustment Services (SAS) Program is seeking a SAS intern to assists refugees and asylees in their transition to life in the U.S., guiding them toward self-sufficiency through personalized case management. The success of this role depends on strong direct service capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, an understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultural background, and a deep sense of compassion.
This is a limited-term internship until May 30, 2025.
\n ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Support SAS Specialists and Supervisors in delivering direct client services, with a focus on client advocacy, self-sufficiency, economic empowerment, and community engagement. Assist in conducting program orientations for SAS participants and provide ongoing support for current caseloads, assessing progress toward self-sufficiency and addressing barriers as needed. Offer direct assistance with HHSC benefits, financial aid applications, medical appointments, and foster relationships with community partners to enhance client support.Help facilitate orientation workshops covering topics such as state benefits, affordable housing, transportation, medical care, and other key self-sufficiency skills. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
