The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person, right here in Hunter NSW.
From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords… whatever you love, you can share it with someone who loves it too.
As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in their own home.
We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals in Belmont and surrounding areas, who can sit and have a chat, reminisce, and talk about topics of interest with elderly clients in their own home. Your Impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
Requirements• 18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
