Education and Experience Social Work: MSW LICSW required Prior experience with adolescents in a school setting with significant mental health issues, preferred. Experience in providing a range of clinical services to students and their families preferably in an educational system. SKILLS/ ABILILTIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting • Broad range of clinical skills including capacity to develop therapeutic rapport with students and families. • Crisis stabilization • Family support, education, and intervention. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within the system of care. • Computer and other technical skills as required by the position. The School Clinician/Social Worker works closely with other members of the clinical staff and faculty to develop and provide a quality treatment and education experience for the students and their families. The School Clinician/Social Worker is expected to demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the day-to-day treatment of assigned students. • Responsible for the management and coordination of a positive school experience for assigned students. • Responsible as liaison with family and community treatment team members. • Responsible for crisis intervention and behavioral/clinical care plans in collaboration with the educational and clinical team. • Provides in-service training to education staff, as requested by the program. • Provides clinical supervision to trainees, as assigned. • Coordinates training program for social work practicum students, as assigned. • Writes IEP Progress Reports and presents findings at special education team meetings. • Provides informal consultation at staff meetings and in the milieu. • Responsible for required documentation that is both timely and legible. • Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competency in order to enhance student care. • Contributes to the efficient operation of the program and hospital through teamwork, cooperation and participation in problem-solving activities. • Communicates in a streamlined, concise, and clear manner. • Additional duties assigned by supervisor.
