We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Social Worker to join our team in a school environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of social and emotional challenges that affect students, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families. The Licensed Social Worker will provide support to students in overcoming obstacles to learning, improving emotional well-being, and ensuring a positive school experience.
\n Essential dutiesConduct emergency assessments of students to evaluate immediate needs and provide appropriate interventions.Provide individual, family, and group therapy using various therapeutic modalities within the scope of professional licensure.Serve as a professional resource for school staff, offering guidance on managing student behavior and emotional challenges.Complete assessments that involve input from students, families, and guardians to identify strengths, service needs, and develop discharge plans.Collaborate in the creation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring counseling services, advocating for their needs and goals.Monitor and evaluate student and family progress toward treatment goals, adjusting interventions as necessary.Ensure compliance with laws and procedures related to child abuse and neglect reporting.Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to the student's behavior and learning style.Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to address student concerns and support classroom management.Provide case management services, including liaison with internal and external resources, such as family members and community agencies.Address issues related to student absences, working with families and guardians to facilitate resolutions.Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports within established timelines.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to express ideas clearly and concisely.Assess the strengths and needs of children and families, making sound decisions about necessary services and treatment plans.Foster a positive therapeutic relationship with children and families to engage them in treatment and intervention plans.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and support to students.Assist with other duties within the scope of social work practice as needed. QualificationsMaster's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.Current LGSW Maryland State License — LCSW-C preferred.Minimum of one year experience in providing direct social work services to children/youth and families.
