We are seeking a Software Development Engineer for an AWS Training & Certification initiative to address cloud skills development. This program will provide learners with the required AWS Cloud and information technology knowledge, hands-on experience, and skills needed for in-demand entry level cloud roles. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team to design and develop services and capabilities for learners. They will dive deep into the most complex technical problems and bring expertise to architecture and design decisions that range from user experience recommendations to supporting a data layer at a global scale. They will be proactive, collaborate well across teams, and exercise consistent high-judgment that aligns with organizational goals.
Key job responsibilitiesDesign and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the learning industry.Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through software automation.Collaborate on our technology roadmap, turn visions into reality.Mentor junior team members to help them grow their development skills.A day in the lifeThis role can be located in the following AWS office locations including: Seattle and Arlington.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.Experience programming with at least one software programming language.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
