The Amazon Music Discovery & Culture team is looking for a Software Development Manager to drive Discovery & Culture to the next level for the Amazon Music Customers.
Everyone on our team has a meaningful impact on product features, new directions in music streaming, and customer engagement. Our team is focused on building a personalized, curated, and seamless music experience for our customers on the Amazon Music iOS/Android App. We help our customers discover up-and-coming artists, while also having access to their favorite established musicians. We build high performance, scalable and distributed systems and services to power our experiences.
You will lead the development of features that drive engagement and revenue to one of the top global music listening services by developing features and experiences on the Amazon Music Mobile app. You love challenging problems, collaborating with stakeholder teams, defining roadmaps, design creative technical solutions, and mentoring more junior engineers. We support a culture of innovation through experimentation and directly partner with Product and Marketing to build successful solutions for our business that our customers love. We have high technical standards and expect you to lead the team to reach new levels with respect to engineering excellence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience3+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersExperience building web applications with React and modern web technologiesExperience with GraphQL/REST, AWSExperience with cutting edge mobile development - ReactNative, Kotlin, Java, SwiftAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
