We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer - Data, who will focus on our data engineering and implementation. The right person will have a strong background in software engineering to design, build, and optimize data pipelines that support our cutting-edge fraud detection products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product engineers, data scientists, and fraud prevention experts, to drive product innovation, enhance data integrity, and ensure the scalability of our data infrastructure.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that collect, process, and store data from a variety of sources.
- Collaborate closely with product engineers and data scientists to create data-driven solutions for fraud prevention and product enhancements.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and accuracy of our data through monitoring, observability, and validation strategies.
- Manage the internal connectivity of backend tools, APIs, and pipelines to build core data models used in fraud detection.
- Research, architect, and deploy new infrastructure and tooling to meet the evolving needs of our data platform, while addressing tech debt where necessary.
Qualifications: - Although not a strict requirement, candidates for this position will usually have 4+ years of experience in data engineering, infrastructure/cloud engineering, or backend software engineering.
- Strong experience with modern ELT tools like Fivetran & DBT or similar frameworks for building performant data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL/document databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Demonstrated expertise in Python for data engineering and data science applications.
- Experience with data platforms, DAGs, semantic layers, and modern data architecture concepts.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with Jupyter Notebooks, or specifically Hex.tech for data analysis and visualization.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or C# is a plus.
