Notion is an in-person company, currently requiring employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

The Data Platform team is responsible for designing, implementing, scaling, and operating systems, tools, and frameworks to build data-powered product experiences and enable data-driven decisions. You'll join a team of talented engineers in our mission to build best-in-class foundational data capabilities that are key to the company's business and product.
What You'll Achieve:Own and play a pivotal role in the development of systems, tools, and infrastructure that democratize data access and enable analytics capabilities across the organization.Work cross-functionally with engineers and partners from the Product, Data Science, Data Engineering, and AI teams to deliver short- and long-term impact.Work on all levels of the stack including infrastructure, libraries, and product code as needed to successfully build and deliver internal platforms that provide high leverage to multiple product teams.Influence and execute the roadmap for data infrastructure and systems to power high-scale product features using Notion's data.Monitor and operate systems in production, understanding systems deeply, optimizing performance, and evolving critical production systems with minimal user disruption.Skills You'll Need to Bring:Passion for systems at scale: Experience on data or infrastructure-focused engineering teams, particularly those that own a wide swath of software platforms. Understand the challenges of scaling and re-architecting data platforms.Adaptable and willing to learn: Excited to learn how the systems you build are used at a fundamental level. Willing to work on client code.Thoughtful problem-solving: Start with a clear understanding of the context to decompose tricky problems and work towards clean solutions.Pragmatic and business-oriented: Care about the business impact of what you're building and prioritize projects accordingly.Empathetic communication: Communicate nuanced ideas clearly and engage thoughtfully with other perspectives.Team player: Enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals and care about learning and helping others grow.Nice to Haves:Experience building out and scaling data infrastructure at a fast-growing startup.Prior experience with experimentation and/or event logging platforms and best practices.Experience working full-stack in Typescript and Node.js ecosystem.Experience building MLOps and ML serving infrastructure.We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds. Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, role scope, complexity, and the candidate's experience and expertise. For roles based in San Francisco and New York, the estimated base salary range for this role is $145,000–$250,000 per year.
