WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Software/DevOps engineer with the skills to automate repeatable processes to improve the efficiency of our cloud governance capabilities, help develop integrated solutions, and assist in the delivery of policy-as-code across a multi-cloud ecosystem.
The candidate will have demonstrable experience coding and scripting using languages like Python/Java/Golang, an understanding of serverless architectures and continuous integration & deployment (CI/CD), plus GraphQL and RESTful API development. Understanding and experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation, CircleCI), version control (e.g. GitHub, Bitbucket), and build automation (e.g. Jenkins) are desired qualities.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will join a squad making a difference at Nike through the development of an enterprise wide cloud governance capabilities that identify / detect and report non-adherence to policies, standards and rules. The team develops solutions that can assess whether rules have been followed or develop APIs or augments existing tools to collect this data. The team also develops policy-as-code to support detective and corrective policy automation for cloud infrastructure in support of cost optimization, security, and infrastructure policies as a multi-layered defense against non-compliant resources in AWS, Azure, GCP, and China-based clouds.
You will participate in team/product planning sessions, share your ideas for our products and services, and help groom and prioritize our backlog. You will partner with other Cloud Engineers, Cloud Governance Software Engineers, Architecture, Product and Program mangers to seamlessly integrate our products and capabilities into our multi-cloud ecosystem, while helping to assess risks and navigate policy exceptions. You will work closely with cloud infrastructure engineers and cloud account holders to iteratively deploy product features and codified policies that will improve the operating posture of Nike in the cloud.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report to the Director of Cloud Governance and join a dedicated squad of developers in the Atlanta Technology Center in Atlanta, Georgia. You will partner with architects, security experts and interact with engineers in peer squads, but this role will allow you to focus on what you truly enjoy – delivering quality code and software features that make a difference.
As part of the Nike Engineering Community, you will have the opportunity to participate in community sessions, engineering forums, governance activities, and networks within Nike.
WHAT YOU BRING
In addition to the requirements described above, successful candidates will exhibit the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT related discipline or any combination of equivalent relevant education, training and experience
Experience in Python/Golang (preferred) or similar automation/scripting languages
Cloud infrastructure development or resource management experience using public cloud provider platforms and services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience in Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation, Pulumi, etc.
Experience in best cloud security practices
Experience in developing automation to simplify end-to-end processes and remove manual workflows
Knowledge of Agile principles and Sprint Planning, including planning/backlog tools (e.g. JIRA)
Knowledge of cloud governance principles, strategy, risk, compliance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Innovative problem-solving skills, with a track record of developing creative solutions to technical challenges.
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
Governance, risk and compliance knowledge and appreciation.
Some knowledge of Cloud Custodian and Open Policy Agent Rego
Some experience in Front-End Development
Basic knowledge of Cloud Security/Cybersecurity practices
Experience with big room planning processes such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect, Developer, etc.)
