A major part of the position would involve developing and validating software tools/applications and procedures for releasing production software to manufacturers and field service teams.This position will develop, test, and validate the software tools and applications on robotic hardware systems directly most of the time. These tools and applications directly support the test fixtures on the production lines and the service activities in the hospitals.This engineer will work closely with other software teams, project management, operation teams, field service teams, and quality teams to implement the design transfer for software releases.This engineer will also provide training to field service engineers and manufacturing engineers on system operation, troubleshooting, and debugging. The engineer will maintain an up-to-date understanding of the system design and behavior, and regularly upgrade their technical skills.This engineer will also develop software tools for monitoring system performance, improving utility of logged data, and enhancing debugging.As a Software Engineer II, your responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Develop software applications and tools for field service/manufacturingMaintain current tools used by field service/manufacturingContribute to drafting service/manufacturing instructionsLead the verification testing for the service software release and manufacturing releaseContribute to software tools development for R&D and manufacturing.Learn and master Software Deployment procedures for all aspects of the robotic platformLearn the manufacturing and service procedures of the whole robotics systemContribute to the assessment of proposed software releases and service process changesGuide efforts to improve software deployment and system debugging process under the service settingsProvide software support and assistance during system upgrades in the fieldMaster the software release process with AgileMust Have: Minimum RequirementsTo be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile and on your resume.·Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and 0 years of experience.Nice to HaveBachelor's degree related to electrical/biomedical/computer engineering or computer scienceComfort prioritizing tasks based on general guidance with limited direct oversightProficient with at least one programming languageFluency in EnglishExperience with software verification and validationExcellent communication skillsFamiliar with JavaScript, Node.js, AngularJSExperience with Linux, shell scripting, Python scripting, software installation, etcExperience with QNX and knowledge of C and C++.Working knowledge of computer networkingWorking knowledge of operating systemsWorking experience with manufacturingPrior experience with system-level debuggingExperience with electro-mechanical devices controlled by software.Working experience in full-lifecycle engineering programs and processesKnowledge of relevant technologies including:Mechatronics / RoboticsMechanical and electrical interfacesCommunication protocolsSensors, actuators, controllersKinematics of mechanismsoVision and display systemsAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
