We are supporting a fast-paced, dynamic environment to analyze and develop the next generation of Astrodynamic Standards software capabilities used by the United States Space Force (USSF), the United States Air Force (USAF), and the Department of Defense (DoD). Our team is looking for a software engineer that is in the early stages of their career with a strong analytical focus, attention to detail, and excellent development skills. The physical location for this work will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with most of the time spent at Peterson Space Force Base.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science or technical discipline with less than 5 years of industry experience. Relevant experience, applicable training and/or certifications may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
Experience developing and maintaining software features for customers in at least one of the following languages: Java, C, C++
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycles
Good technical writing skills
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills
Working understanding of orbital mechanics
Experience with mathematical software development
Familiarity with Fortran program language
Experience developing in C or C++
Experience developing unit tests for programs written in at least one of the following languages: Java, C, C++
Familiarity with WebAssembly
Experience working with web service data formats (JSON, JSON-P, XML)
Experience with using version control software and process (Git)
Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment (Scrum/Kanban)
