Software Engineer Senior.
Building Akamai cloud platform and developing software for Akamai's distributed secure web content delivery network. Building and maintaining applications and systems. Gatheringmetrics to understand the overall resource usage. Designing and implementing new features to improve processes and workflows. Optimizing existing functionalities from conception and design through testing and deployment. Adding integration with internal tools and processes. Interacting with different teams to identify bottlenecks and enable a smooth transition to the cloud platform. Documenting designs and presenting work for peer review within the team using excellent communication skills. Analyzing and testing work with respect to performance and reliability using experience with standard techniques of measuring resource usage. Building tests for software to demonstrate proper operation to meet both internal and external customer expectations for reliability and performance. Following good development methodology, including collaboration with testing and SQA departments to successfully deploy new system components; and Demonstrating proven ability analyzing and maintaining deployed servers and network traffic. Required Qualification:
Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related software engineering role.
Must Have: One (1) year of experience in the following skills: Object oriented programming; application integration; Selenium; SQL; Java; and REST APIs.
Compensation:
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $113,430 - $170,043/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
