Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers.
We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Software Engineering Manager

You will: Report into Sensor organization Work in a multidisciplinary team environment including radar, camera, or other sensor architecture design, embedded control, GPU digital signal processing, test, and manufacturing Define, implement, and maintain cross-sensor cloud-based manufacturing and test infrastructure in both the California SF bay area and overseas locations Define, implement, and maintain radar embedded control needed for manufacturing, calibration, testing, and R&D prototyping Conduct software testing and validation, including the use of simulation and advanced radar test chambers to ensure that there are no reliability problems in our hardware and software that runs on the road You have: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics (MS or PhD preferred for Math and Physics majors) 5 years experience in production code software development Proficient in C++ and Python We prefer: Experience in designing, building, and maintaining automotive radars, cameras or other sensors Experience in SerDes and sensor drivers Proficient in Python Experience in self-driving cars Ability to travel domestically and internationally

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below.
Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

$192,000 - $243,000 USD
