Software Engineering Manager, Rendering TechnologiesThe UI Compositing team develops APIs, Frameworks, and System Software that is the core graphics compositing engine behind every Apple device that renders to a display. Our team is looking for an extraordinary software engineering manager to lead a team of highly skilled engineers working on the technologies behind the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and AppleTV; every Apple product that has a display. By working at the core graphics layers in Apple's operating systems, you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the end user experience for all Apple customers.
Description As a manager on the UI Compositing team, you will lead a team of highly skilled engineers in the design and implementation of critical rendering technologies.
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of engineering management and project leadership experience, delivering high-quality products5+ years of hands-on software developmentPrior experience in leading large cross-functional productsExcellent software design, problem-solving, and debugging skillsPreferred Qualifications Proven track record in strategic leadership and decision-makingA genuine passion for 2D and 3D graphicsExperience with OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, or other GPU programming APIsExperience with software performance analysis, optimizations, and low-level systems programmingExcellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsAbility to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving extraordinary qualityUpbeat, adaptable, and results-oriented with a positive attitudeEducation: BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experienceCompensation and Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs and are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounted products and services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation assistance.
